April 2018 Squarespace Product Updates

Every week as a Squarespace Circle Member (sign-up if you regularly build client websites) we get the latest product updates sent to our email. We realized that even though this community is growing, there are a lot of other Squarespace users that don’t get these updates, so the Brad Good team wanted to compile the most important changes every month in a easy to read blog post.

If you are wondering about all of the new updates Squarespace released in April, read more below!

Week: March 26 to April 2.

Zapier integration

Squarespace is excited to announce a new integration with online automation tool Zapier! By connecting to Zapier, you can use new Form and Newsletter Block submissions to trigger over 1,000 additional Zapier integrations like Slack, Trello, ConvertKit, Salesforce and more.

To get started, visit Using Zapier with Squarespace.

Note: The Zapier integration is a premium Squarespace feature available in the current Website Business plan and higher. Zapier is an external service with both a free plan and premium plans starting at $20 per month. To learn more, visit Premium features.

Two-factor authentication

Squarespace also launched two-factor authentication, or 2FA, to add an extra layer of security to your account and Squarespace sites. Enabling this feature lets you require a code generated by an authentication app on your smartphone whenever you access your account from a new device.

To set this up, visit Protect your account with two-factor authentication.

Required action: Mobile app update

To release two-factor authentication, Squarespace needed to make sure all their mobile app users are on the latest version. When logging into an older version of any Squarespace app, you’ll see a prompt to update the app. It won’t possible to login without upgrading to the latest version.

Manage mobile apps from your Account Dashboard

You can now view and disconnect the Squarespace mobile apps you’re logged into in the Connected Apps panel of your Account Dashboard. This can help your site stay secure if you lose your device. Removing an app in the panel forces the app to log out so no one can access your private site information.

For help, visit Managing connect Squarespace mobile apps.

Week: April 16 to April 22.

Commerce Apps Panel

Since launching our Orders API, Squarespace has worked with a few third parties to create integrations for their popular services. In the new Apps panel, you’ll find links for each partner. We’ll start with launching:

  • Printful - On-demand printing, shipping, and warehousing for online businesses
  • TaxJar - Automated sales tax reporting and filings in all U.S. states.
  • ShipBob - Automated order fulfillment

As a note, Squarespace did not build these integrations, nor do we maintain them.

Week: April 23 to April 30.

Squarespace Auf Deutsch

Squarespace launched a fully-translated German Squarespace platform. As with their French and Spanish platforms, customers can now change their account language to German and create German sites using templates in the Brine family.

Visit Changing your language for help switching a site to German.
